Match Report
Forres Sandle Manor School Girls-U11 vs  Clayesmore School
On: Saturday, 25 Sep 2021
Venue: Away

This was a game where FSM dug deep to produce better and better hockey. A relatively inexperienced team, the girls found themselves a goal down pretty quickly in the first quarter. When that happens, a team has to make a conscious decision to fight back and not let the game run away from them. And, my word, this group of girls were GRIT personified! Annabelle and Eliza-Grace refused to let Clayesmore have an easy game, leading our international transfers, covering the pitch, diving into ferocious tackles. This encouraged the other girls to throw themselves into the match, with Manuela, Gabriela, Ana and Carolina working hard to use their newly acquired stick skills. Ingrid looked far more comfortable in goal, watching and moving well to block every further strike from the opposition. The last quarter saw Clayesmore piling on more and more pressure in the D and FSM did remarkably well to hold them off. A great game - well played, girls!

Final score 0 - 1. Girl of the Game: Annabelle, with Eliza-Grace highly commended.
