Venue: at Home

With clear skies and a chill in the air the seen was set for a beautiful afternoon of hockey. I''m a big advocate of, if you get a good warm up done and dusted then players mind set will be in the right place. As warm ups go is was pretty dismal.... Distractions from every which way. WHP win the Toss and with a strong pass back already looked like solid side. Thankfully though they don''t have a George who puts so much pressure on the opposition that''s its like having 3 extra players on the pitch and that pressure lasted for 40 minutes. The boys looked alert and from the off were playing down the right and wide. It wasn''t long before the first goal struck the back of the goal. Cross in from Ben and a low sweeping hit from Finlay. The game continued in very simular fashion out wide to Ben and into Finlay.... Score. The boys were on fire and not only that they were playing some really decent hockey. Jack at the back was solid as a rock and I''d go a far as saying he didn''t make a mistake all afternoon. Toby''s stick skills were really quite something and on numerous occasions got the team out of trouble really close to the line. Addai for the second game running was looking like a seasoned Pro in gaol. Freddie although didn''t get on the score sheet this week continues to stop the oppositions attack again and again and always looks like he has bags of time on the ball. Half time blew and FSM are 4-0 up. So it makes sense to naturally think we''ll probably be 8 nil winners of even score 10. Take your foot off the gas and the goals will just roll into the back of the net...... Oh no doesn''t work like that. I''m praying we''ve learnt a valuable lesson. It wasn''t that we played particularly badly in the 2nd half it just lacked the intensity of the first. A Bit less movement, a bit more moaning and definitely too much faffing around with the ball on the stick. End score 4-3. Phew! In all honestly it never looked like we were going to lose and the boys new that and that was our biggest down fall today. A better side would have punished us and its a lesson that we are not going to take likely heading into the counties and Iaps. Man of the match could have 4 ways with Ben, Jack and George all topping the charts but you can''t ignore Finlay hatrick so we''ll done big man.
