In the U8A mixed football tournament, the team performed well despite the challenge of adapting to a new set of rules and role removals. The players showed great determination and played with a lot of positive spirit throughout their matches, adjusting quickly to the changes. Their energy and teamwork were commendable, and they managed to maintain a positive attitude during all games. They were humble and extremely polite to their opponents, displaying great manners by shaking their hands and congratulating them after they played, which I think is very positive!
They applied great pressure on their opponents and had possession of the ball in the majority of their games, yet our passing accuracy when we did have possession went astray, making it even more difficult to maintain possession and build effective attacks. However, they were able to make some great tackles to intercept and remain with the ball.
However, there are areas for improvement. One key issue observed was a lack of listening during team talks and at crucial moments, which occasionally affected the team’s positioning and strategy. Improving focus and attention during coach instructions, team talks from captains and in-game communication will help the team perform even better in future matches.
Overall, the team showed great potential and a strong spirit. With a little more focus on listening and precise passing, they are sure to achieve even better results in future tournaments!
