Our u11A team went to Bryanston for a sevens tournament. First up was against our hosts and we were slow out of the blocks, conceding two penalties in the first minute. This set a tone and we came away with a 15-0 loss.
Next up was Perrot Hill and we were back to our best with Hugo immediately setting a standard for the boys to follow. Mac did just that and with Charlie in support, we scored to get our day up and running. Maxwell put in a contender for the try of the day after scampering the length of the field for our second. Mac made it three and with the score at 15-15, Pedro touched down in the corner to give us the victory.
Sunninghill were next and this was another good win with our Spanish duo, Felipe and Pedro, scoring two tries each without reply. Ole!!!!!
I am not sure why but we then played Bryanston again. We were more 'on it' this time and made them battle for their win. We still lost the game but came off with our heads higher after an improved performance than our opening defeat to them.
This all meant that we finished second in the group and played Salisbury Cathedral, who were second in the other group. This was a tight game that we were pipped to by a try. We didn't tackle their one good runner and he made us pay with the final score being 20-15. Overall, the boys played some good rugby. Men of the match go to Mac, for his aggressive running, and to Felipe, for his gutsy tackling.
At the end, it was great to watch our u13A team take a convincing victory in their final against Clayesmore. Congratulations to them!!!
