Venue: Away

What a thrilling day for our Under 9 rugby boys! They were buzzing with excitement as they hopped on the bus to Castle Court, and their enthusiasm certainly translated onto the pitch. It was a perfect day for rugby—crisp, dry, and delightfully muddy!

Our first match saw us face a very well-drilled Sandroyd team. It was a nail-biting affair, with both sides showcasing brilliant play. Our boys were electrifying, with Will, Cameron, Freddie, and Tommy making some blistering runs through the Sandroyd defence. Cameron and Tommy both crossed the line, leading to fantastic scores. Eason also stepped up, warming into the game with some clever supporting lines and clinching a try of his own. Sandroyd proved to be tough opponents, putting our defensive skills to the test. Freddie was outstanding, leading the charge with covering tackles, saving many a try. The game ended with a hard-fought victory for FSM, 4 tries to 3.

In our second match against Castle Court, the boys were hungry for more tries! From Freddie's heroic solo efforts to excellent support from Jaiden and Harry, the teamwork was a joy to witness. Selfless play from William also set Eason up for a spectacular try. Despite Castle Court's resilience, Cameron shone brightly, bagging an impressive 5 tries, allowing us to triumph 8 tries to 5.

Our final touch game against a mixed team was light-hearted yet fun, with captain Felix and his brother, Charlie scoring yet more tries and steering us to victory. The camaraderie and spirit were fantastic! Cameron earns today's Muddiest Man award—Tommy was a close second—while Freddie took home the Man of the Match for his sniping runs and superb tackles. Well done, boys! What a day!
