We were straight off the bus and into our first match against Durlston Court. After our victory last week, they were keen to get their revenge and it was a tight game with the difference being one moment of quality that gave them a 1-0 win. Next up was Dumpton, who are always tough opponents. Max got us off to a lightening start, thanks to Barny's through ball and soon after we were two up with the same combination. Marius provided an excellent cross for Max to notch his, and the team's third, in a convincing 3-0 victory. Clayesmore was next and we played some really good football. We took the lead (Max again) before Clayesmore came back into it and eventually broke through us to score and 1-1 is how it finished. We then played Port Regis and again played some good football. With Max resting, we struggled to convert our chances hitting the bar twice and the post, but could not quite get the ball in the net. We were on top for the majority but in this short format, the game ended goalless. Our final group game was against BCS and after drawing three good saves and a goal line clearance, Max scored from a tight angle before quickly adding a second. Barnaby cooly slotted for us and we were solid 3-0 winners. We finished third in the group and so played Sunninghill, who came third in their group. Josh picked out Max with an accurate long ball and, well Max did what he does best and put us in the lead. The heavens opened and the game went a bit scrappy but we did enough to come out on top. Overall, the boys played some really good football and walked away with playing 6 games, winning 3, drawing 2 and only losing 1. We scored 8 goals and conceded 2. Man of the match goes to Max.
