On: Wednesday, 13 Nov 2024
Venue: Away

The U11A rugby squad took to the field with determination in two challenging fixtures, showing moments of grit and skill but ultimately falling short in both matches. In the first game against Dumpton, our opponents proved to be a strong, organised side, pulling ahead with 5 tries to win 25-0. From the outset, there was some standout tackling by Charlie, Jason, and Hugo, who consistently put their bodies on the line to halt Dumpton’s advances. Mac’s powerful kicks and rucks helped drive the team forward, giving our side some much-needed territory gains. However, a few handling errors, including dropped balls and knock-ons, hindered our momentum and made it tough to secure possession. The boys worked hard but struggled to find rhythm against Dumpton’s dominant attack.

The second match against BCS saw the team bounce back with better discipline and cohesion. They executed some promising set plays, moving the ball with confidence and showing improvement in their tackling and rucking. One of the highlights was an impressive set play between Max, Hugo, and Hardy, showcasing well-timed passes and good communication. Jaxon made strides down the wing, but despite his speed, he was unfortunately denied a try. Tenzin led assertively, with Henry quick-thinking his way along the wing in several attempts to break through, while Leo made determined efforts to tackle. In the end, BCS managed to secure 4 tries, finishing the game with a 20-0 win. Moving forward, the team will focus on avoiding high tackles and maintaining a positive mindset on the pitch.
