The u13A participated in an exciting tournament, finishing an impressive third place. They faced strong opponents such as Ballard, BCS, Moyles Court and Walhampton, in what were highly competitive and exciting matches. The girls showed great determination and enthusiasm throughout all 6 matches.
In defence Unathi, Sophie and Lorelei stood strong, making crucial tackles and clearances to protect their box. There courage really shone through when making tackles as they stayed strong, winning them the possession of the ball. Behind them in goal Leila put in an outstanding performance making key saves under pressure. Her quick distribution of the ball up the pitch allowed for lots of attacking opportunities and showed her great awareness of the game.
In attack Anna, Bea, Darley-rose and Sophia proved to be constant threat to opponents. There relentless pressure forced the other teams into making errors creating scoring opportunities. Anna and Sophia scored crucial goals with Sophia earning herself a hattrick in one of the games.
As a team, we are working on improving our first touch to maintain better control and possession during matches. While it is still a work in progress, the team made strides in this area and showed great potential for improvement in future games. The girls worked incredibly hard and demonstrated great sportsmanship, making their third-place finish a well-deserved achievement.
