This was a particularly tough day at the office, facing three opposition teams, two of which were extremely strong. We were on the back foot from the off, but the boys deserve credit for their grit, persistence and heart. The defence were busy, with Jacob deflecting, protecting and saving his socks off. Tom C, Blake and Johnny held firm with guts and glory, aiming to clear the ball away from danger as much as they could. There was a bit of a gap between our defence and attack at times, and we do need to remember to support the defence when under this amount of pressure. We had several forays into enemy territory, with Hugo, Tom K, Brayden and Joseph working together with a few fancy footwork moments to rally the counter-attack. There were a few changes of position during the afternoon, with Brayden and Blake also taking a stint in goal, Tom C and Johnny pushing up in the midfield and Jacob working the right wing.

All in all, a good effort against stronger teams, with moments of glory to brighten our scoreline and dilute the losses.
