What a cracking start to the season for these girls! Taking on Dumpton's U11s (along with our U11s), they took the game to the Dumpton half. Great pace, great space and solid tackling gave FSM the edge, piling on the pressure. The girls worked hard to maintain their basic formation, enabling good passing and less 'cluttering' of the pitch. Everyone gave their best effort and thoroughly deserved their 1 - 0 win.
Key mentions: Marta's pace & ferocious tackles; Hettie's wide clearances & protection of the goal; Penny W's 'brick wall' block in defence, with super low stick; Isla's strong tackling in the D; Polly's pace & nifty stick skills; Penny A's increased pace around the pitch; Beata's good positioning, ready for action; Violet's drive & use of the pitch width; Sara's brave involvement in her first ever hockey match.
This is a team to watch! Well played, girls!
